Who's on Gull Lake?

Post by holmes »

I was out on Gull Lake for my first Kiting Experiance today. I've lived on the lake in the past winters and never thought of or saw anyone kiting on the lake. Until this season, I got hooked up from Liqiud Force and Now I'm on a mission to learn to ride/fly this thing.

During my testing period and frustrations today I watched a Blue Kite for a few hours while my kite was either on the ice/snow or in neutral. I did manage to ride a board for about 100 yard for my first ride but not the best effort.

So Fellow Gull Lakers Post your info. The wind is looking good for this week. I'll be out again.

I know Todd is out there some times but who else?

CH

I saw you over there yesterday and I was thinking about making the exact same post. That was me and my boys out yesterday. We are stationed around my warming/fishing shack. Please come out and join us anytime. I believe that the wind could be good all day today. I will be there all day.

See ya,

Jason,

Where do you drive on the Yacht Club?

I spotted you fish house from my place but I don't have a sled or 4 wheeler to get there.

I'll have to get over there by car.

Let me know. Wind was light today. But enough to fly a little.

Chris,

I was out today for awhile but it was really light wind. I will be out the next time it blows. Go straight out from the yacht club, can't miss us with the Ozone flag flyin'. Look forward to shredding with ya.

See you there...

Todd, Chris and any other kiters from the area...

We will be on Gull Lake out from the Yacht club flying around our warming house all day unless the wind is not epic like what is forecast for the rest of the state...in which case we are going to travel.

LAKAWA forecasts barely 10 knots for the Brainerd Area...If its a bust we are heading West to Ottertail where they are calling for some super wind 15-20 knots. Cannot let that kind of wind pass with our current snow cover. Also, I believe Ottertail Lake should have more snow than pretty much the rest of the state currently. For those who don't know Ottertail Lake is a decent size body of water near the Fergus Falls area lakes and is our PLAN B for today.

Everybody-ENJOY this day, it should be one to remember.

Todd- We will be out at the Ozone Fish House tomorrow. Today looks like a weak wind. Tomorrow looks great out of the SSW. We will probably pull the shack further out to the North to catch that SSW even better...but still straight out from the Yacht club.

Will have the kids and wife out for some more fresh tracks. You know we keep getting freshies by just moving the house a little at a time. It's an endless playground on Gull.

Lars, where in the h$#k have you been? Come on out and join us tomorrow. Chris we have been waiting to ride with you mon, come on out...It's gonna be a great time.

Jason,

I see you moved again. What access are you driving out on now? Your pretty close to my house now.

Lots of kites out there today, I'll be out tomorrow for sure if its blowing, Finally a day off.

Let me know the best way to get out on the ice from the east side.

Chris,

Nice to meet you the other day, thanks for coming out. Too bad for the light winds. The tow behind the snowmobile was rad though. Dude call me sometime, I still want to come and check out those boards...
