If ya got a 10.8 sail or bigger and a formula board...you'll be planning just fine in this wind..(9-12mph)wind.
What do you need for a big enough kite? 18 meter-20meter something? (is that in Sq. meteres or ft. or what is the correct metric, Paradigm or Aglorithm used for describing kite sizes?)
Please educate me a bit here. Thank you.
It's officially SUMMER!

Yeah, square meters for kites. In that wind 8-10M kites are the call, or smaller if you have a big surf foil.Quetzalcoatl wrote:If ya got a 10.8 sail or bigger and a formula board...you'll be planning just fine in this wind..(9-12mph)wind.

Last time I was out on Waconia in wind like that I was using a 4.1 M Ezzy Taka2 windsurf sail and was able to pump up onto foil in the 12mph gusts and keep going by leg pumping. So fun!
I respect the windsurfers that use 9+ meter sails! Those things are not ease to manage but there's nothing much more fun than haning off the boom zooming along when there's hardly even a white cap with a formula board.
However, kiting foiling has really let me pair my gear down to a minimum - I think I'm starting to go over to the dark side

All sides (the Dark side, the Jeti windsurfside) are all good!
