Saturday, Saturday, Saturday...

This Saturday, we'll be having some loose events out at Kite Island. Come out and ride, watch,...play. We may get some local TV coverage and some folks showing up to see the what would have been the KiteFreeze.

We're also going to be giving lessons, and having a gear swap. If you have winter gear you're looking sell bring it along.

should be a great day. Hope for some wet snow between now and then and good winds the day of.

If anyone has a Gas Grill or two, to bring out? It would be great to be able to throw some brats or burgers on.

How about one of those open fire pits?

Maybe one of you have an enterprising teenager who wants to make a buck or two. Swing by Sams Club pick up a box of brats, some buns, and bring the grill....you have a small business.

Or a small hot cocoa stand? (winter version of the lemonade stand)

Mainly just come out and play. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. Any board, any sail or kite, it's all good.

Hunter.
Go for it you little entrepeneur. Do it right and you could make enough to start saving for a kite.

Lessons.
I wasn't planning on giving formal lessons on Saturday, though we will be giving some hands on flying as an introduction, as well as product demos. If you or others want a more formal lesson, we could arrange something. I think from your skills last year, you'll be ready to go after another short stint with the trainer.

I'm pretty sure the Shack and others will be out with trainers as well on Saturday, so you should get a chance to fly. There will be kites for sale if you want to pick one up... or if you want a riding lesson you'ld be able to demo different sizes of kites to determine what you want. Either way, show up, bring your gear. We'll get you riding. Next year we hope to have a Junior division for the Kitefreeze. Right now you are in the lead...there is no one else though yet.

Was hoping for a junior junior division for this year. We have an 8 year old and a 10 year old that want to enter the kite freeze.

Will it happen? I mean, I would be bringing two competitors alone, is that enough?

If we get a few more Juniors we'll make a division. Either way they won't leave empty handed. We'll make sure they get recognized.

Well, lets hope for more juniors!

Count us in, so we now have two competitors.

As far as prizes go, my kids would be good with a free happy meal from Mcky D's or something like that.

Cya there...

Great Jason.

I just realized, were you asking about this weekend of the Kitefreeze. We may have some loosely organized events this weekend, though it is mainly a free ride, open jam session. The Kitefreeze isn't till the end of Febuary.

Hope to finally meet you this weekend.

I was thinking about the actual KiteFreeze for the kids to enter. I guess maybe I should have posted on that thread instead, but I was just following up on the comment to Hunter about the Kite Freeze on this thread.

I might come down this weekend. How's the snow cover around the Island? Man it is great up here in Brainerd...

How is the wind looking for Sat? I may try to make the trek from Eau Claire, WI. Is kite island on lake Minnetonka? Where would the meet be, and is there a parking lot close(I dont feel like driving the company car out on a lake, as safe as it prolly is) If I dont make it, be safe and have a blast for me!!!!
