My last S. Padre Island trip (in Dec.) was warm when it started,,,three days of upper 70's and 20ish wind.
But on the fourth day, the air temp dropped to 43 and North wind blowing at 37 mph.
I deliberately left my hood at home. SO, I deliberately made a "B-line to a kiteboard shop (Air Padre) where I was
able to pick up a decent hood (just 32 bucks) and lightly winter gloves (same Price).
That saved the rest of my vacation!,,,this allowed me to sail the last three cold (but windy) days.
In the shop I tried on the "Large" size (which is the size I usually use) and it was WAY to tight, squeezing my head together and making my head throb. So tried on the "Extra" large and it was comfortable and still tight, just right.
Had I bought this hood on line...I would not have been able to try it on and quickly switch to the extra large.
Board shops Rule! Not only in my case this was the fastest way to get my equipment, having a store to go to,
I was able to get the right size,,,not have to send it back, and wait, and miss some good sailing.
Windsurfing on the Rise and Kiteboarding too! And THANK YOU to "Air Padre" (a kiteboarding store that helped out a windsurfer).
Quetzalcoatl out.
The benefits of ordering in a boardshop vs on-line
