How was Cannon last Friday? (please share)

Post by fairbanks »

I got there (Acherman Lot) around 2:30 and the lot was overfilled beyond capacity. It was so great to see so many windsurfers and one kiter. No place for me. I drove away thinking I don't need to be there to represent windsurfing. But I drove to the other end of the lake (grassy area) rigged a Ezzy Panther 6.0 and 118 liter and had pretty good side shore wind.
How was the sailing with the on shore conditions? Please share.
The Legend out.

4-5M sails. Very good conditions if not a little "green" on the lake! Hoping for MORE.

It was the first time in 3 years or more that I was able to be at cannon on a strong south wind. There were nice areas where the waves cleaned up and made either twin tip or surfboard fun. I was in an 8m kite that was solid from about 1:30-5:00. Although the windsurfers seemed to have some great runs, the added height if the kite lines apparently made a difference, and I didn't experience the lulls.
Plenty of lift...for a awhile it was gusty boostathon, and later I got to try some minor strapless jumping. Tabletops- notsomuch. But 2-3'. The board actually doesn't feel much different after you take off. Kick it into the wind and it just kind if sticks there. Gonna have to try to push it more to get real hang time. Fun to have the waves without having to drive 2 hours north.
And fun to see my windsurfing buddies again. I noticed no one volunteered to trade kits with me that day. Liked like fun for everyone.
