Barbados

Hi, I'm looking for any tips people may have to share about Barbados (Mid Feb 2013). Where do you stay (we're looking at moon raker or round rock apts)? Is silver sands the best kiting beach? How about surfing? Do you bring your own kite gear or rent and if so from who? Do you book your flight last minute or ahead of time. Just looking for perspective from those in the know.
