North Long 371 Bay Sat

Post by Bryce »

I talked with Todd and North Long Lake Bay on 371 is looking good for this weekend. I have heard that people are out fishing there along with a few portable fish houses. I'm going to shoot to get out there by 9am or so and check out the area. Wind looks best in the morning too. If your coming up BE SAFE! Ice spikes and lifejacket would be good. It is all pretty shallow there, so we can stick to where it is not deep.

The ice at North Long was glass on sat, Bryce was out with skates and ripping. There was about a half an inch of water on the surface at the time so I didn't ride, but now it should be mint and solid as Sears.( good for ne e and se winds)

How about an ice toy rally on saturday? Ride those blades before the snow arrives.

Ice toy rally, that has a nice ring to it! Se works great @ North Long and I'm sure the surface will be rocking in the USA.
Looks like the temps will be staying well below freezing after today, so we should be in good shape. I'll check it out tonight
and post the results.

Ice was good... like todd said there was quite a bit of water on the ice. So I got wet. My goretex red one-zy did an alright job though!

Even with the melt there was 3 inches of good ice. I'm sure we are beyond that now as well with the colder weather. The other end of north long (Merrifield) skimmed over yesterday or the day before for the first time.

I'll plan on hitting the ice on Sat for sure.
