Thursday 8/16 Looks Windy

Post by Kevinousdigian »

Should be the first strong cold front we've had in months on Thursday. It may even line up for Father Hennepin which next to the Mother is some of the best waves in the state. NOAA and ikitesurf are only calling for 11 mph or less but I bet they will change their minds....
Should also be some kiteable southerlies ahead of front on Wed.

Now NOAA and ikitesurf have come around to join Brian and I in the windy on Thurs band wagon.

Brian or others - are you hitting Father Hennepin? when?

Thursday's forecast is looking really good. Maybe this will be the last time this year when we have strong winds with the combination of warm air & water temps. I'm expecting to be there by 10:00. For those not familiar with state park rules, remember to get your vehicle permit, $5 for the day or $25 for an annual.

Your forecasting skills are impressive, Kevin. Whenever the different sources are in conflict, you seem to get the call right. I'll be up at Millie tomorrow, but most likely at Malmo, since I'll be teaching my girlfriend.

Hoping to get out local, impressive wind predictions again for sure. I definatly have wind prediction envy as I want that one warm southerly at Reddy this year and starting to worry its not going to happen. Please make it so! Good luck with the lesson, hope she has a wetsuit as the winds might feel pretty chil tomorrow for a gal learning

Malmo worked out great for Adam, Amanda and I. It was nice to meet Marc and share the lake with someone. Strange to have only three kites in the air on a windy day, and usually they were all mine.
