Fathers Day Gift

Post by Hendy »

Yesterday early evening, after diligently watching the weather most of the weekend, thinking I was not going to get out this weekend. it looked like Lake Waconia was going to give us a chance to ride. So Randy L, Calvin and I drove across town with high hope of getting the elusive session. when we got to Woconia Chad was there with hope of getting some news guys rolling on some lessons. Tighe pulled in right behind us. the storms and rain had just passed and we waited a bit for the wind to fill.
Not happening fast enough for us, Tighe and Cal hopped in the car and drove around the lake looking for a better launch. Score the north end of the lake was filling with white caps, so Randy and I joined them. Up just where the bike path crosses the road you can squeeze down to the water. once down the bottom is shallow sand. a quick drift launch and we were off and riding. with the wind continuing to build a couple other guys joined us, six or seven kites, boosting, smiling, laughing and to top it off my son Calvin even pumped up my kite as a fathers day gesture.....NICE!!!

What a great session. Absolutely lit on my 12 and my 132 is gooooood. Great stoke on the water. The rollers and ramps were clean on that end of the lake. Incredible riding conditions....and completely unexpected.

Same thing happened Saturday night but from the NW. Two surprise sessions! Great father's days presents.

BTW...that launch is an expert only launch. There is a nasty 6 foot drop to the water between trees, the shallows only extend out enough for a drift launch and there are power lines running along the shore.

A Best Bar was left at the shore. Young guy driving a silver Jetta left it. If you know him let him know I have it. (tighe at windancing.com)

It got sunny and windy at about 2:00 saturday at Washington and blew the rest of the day. Had great session with the Fun Hogger. There always seems to be something better about Suprise sessions.
