Ice now

Post by Lars »

Ice in the Brainerd Lakes Area. Most smaller lakes and the 371 bay of North Long are iced over. North Long has 2-3" of mirror black ice and people have been ice skating. Forcast is for temps in the teens Sat. night so should be O.K. for kite skating Sunday.

Lars-

Where have ya been? I lost your e-mail address.

How much ice is there on N. Long Bay? Can you see the black hole? Wanna give it a try tomorrow? What time? My vote is for A.M. when the ice is still solid, lol.

Let me know. Looks like a nice steady skate breeze all day out of the South!!

Lars! We always like your reports this time of year. Thanks. I'm seriously thinking about going up there and doing some kiting and skating and boarding. I just got a 12M Rhino that I would like to try with skates if it's not too windy.

Jeff G, Jerry S and I went up to Ashby, MN near Alexandria and found some ice to sail on http://www.downhaul.com/icesail/031108/ It was really FUN!!! I've put away all my water toys and am stoked on the ice now.

Let's do an early trip to Brainerd guys, eh? Get back in time for Simpsons and Ice cream.
