I think straight S is not so good from Lake City although I think Stockholm might be a better bet when the wind is from the South. Pete might know.

Might have to make the late afternoon trip down to Cannon to hear it go BOOM!

Scott and I rode Cannon yesterday afternoon with great southerlies, fall colors and fully lit 11m. Heading back today for more kiting, stronger winds. And then, hopefully, Friday, even stronger winds and back to Cannon for . . . windsurfing!!!

You should come down Z if it goes off.

It's gonna crank at Cannon tomorrow. See you there.

Looks like it's gonna blow on Pepin but Cannon is the call for me.

As far as kiting on Pepin in a S wind, I would suggest launching from the beach at Hok-si-la Park. Plenty of space to lay out your lines. Generally, I windsurf from the rest area about a mile north of there as the wind is better north of town on southerly winds. Hok-si-la will pretty much put you in that zone. No good kite launching from the rest area. Or, walk a mile in through the woods to Sand Point, the southern part of Frontenac State Park. The beach is narrow and goes quite aways out into the lake. This will most likely create some flat water riding for you on the north side of the beach. Shallow water on south side of same beach. No park sticker on vehicle needed.

If my injured lower back allows it, I will be at Cannon too. Looks good!

Prof. W, with an injured back does this mean your jump heights will be decreased from 40' to 30', with hang time limited to 6 rather than 8 seconds? You might have to take it easy and not jump over the lowly windsurfers. Heal up! Prof. S

I think I need to find a job with more flexible hours.
If the wind holds until Saturday, I hope to get out then. Please post as message if you plan to ride on Saturday

Thanks for the tips. With no East in the wind I think I will pass on Pepin. Too bad, after talking with Dr Bill earlier this summer I have been looking forward to a fall colored ride on Pepin. Have fun on Cannon today. Cheers!

Well look at that - it's even supposed to blow into the wee hours and the forecast has been upgraded. Making the trip to Cannon today and have the 2.9 in the car "just in case" it does this:

BOOM!
