Wondering what programs are being used to edit Go-Pro video. I'm using Sony Vegas
Movie Studio but would like to find something less complicated to use.

Hey Peter, Windows Live Movie Maker is simple and very friendly to use.
Be ready with the camera, 6 more weeks to Mexico
I got a Zephyr 17m to bring. For sure it will cover those light wind days and I know you have one too. A couple of days a go I was talking with my friend Guillermo, he lives in Puerto Morelos, and he told me "Max, bring a 9m kite too". I think 17m, 14m and 9m will be perfect to bring.
Have a good time in Florida, see you next month in paradise...

Final Cut Pro is among them best software out there. It has a lot of complexity, but it's not that difficult to learn the basics. It used to be a $1000 suite of software, but they just started selling it for $300. I have used iMovie and WMM, but I find them to be overly complicated to make them do what you want. They try too hard to be "easy". Just my 2 cents.

Re: Edit Go-Pro Video
The challenge with GoPro video is that it is recorded with an AVCHD codec, which makes really nice pictures but is very complex and so some editors can't edit it natively - iMovie, the 'older' version of Final Cut Pro, and Avid's Media Composer, for example. This means before you can edit, they have to transcode the AVCHD files into something that they can edit, which takes time, makes another copy of your file, and you will also find that the copies themselves will get 4 - 10 times as large.
I think the new Final Cut Pro X can edit AVCHD, but I'm not sure. Adobe Premier can, as well as Sony Vegas.

Video can very easily be converted, for free, if Final Cut can't do it, but it probably can.
