Yesterday at Wac

Post by Chris »

Yesterday was my fourth consecutive day. No doubt about it, this sport is a drug. The more I get, the more I want (the less I get, the more I crave).

I got to Waconia at about 4:15. Brian was finishing a 5.x session. John was just going out on a 5.5. It looked good. I rigged a 5.0. I got the tail end (10 minutes worth) of strong wind. Then I came in and switched to a 5.8 and a bigger (102 L) board and I sailed for another couple of hours. It was marginal 6.0.

Mat and Joe were kiting. I think Mat switched to a larger kite about the same time I switched to a larger sail.

John Mooney stopped by. He was in town for a wedding. He said to say “Hi from Moondog.”

Chris,

A week ago I strained my back to a point that I could hardly stand up. Then came the forcast of temps in the 80's and wind 15 to 25. Then the next day the forcast was about the same but the temp only got to 72 but the wind was 20 to 30. Then came two more days of marginal forcasts of 15 to 25 and 20 to 20 but the temps were only in the 60's.

I am glad you got to enjoy the fantastic sailing days and you can be sure I was thinking of you as the wind was shaking my house.

Hopefully my back will get better soon so I can enjoy a few more days of sailing before ice.

Hope to see you all on the water soon.
