Hi, thank you in advance for reading.
I have been having fun for many many years on my Bic Samba and Electic Rock. I would like to replace my samba for a newer version board.
I use the samba for 5.7 to 6.4. I would also like to get a bigger sail like a 8.5 for winds around 10-15. Is the Bic 283 a good replacer or should I look at the techno2. I met someone that had a 283, and his board was very light compared to my board, and he went much faster.
I am 35, 150 pounds, 5,7 and want to update. Not a lot of money so the 283 looks good at 699 compared to techno 2 at 749. (not the pro carbon which is 949. )
If you have any used boards or stuff please email me at collebra@yahoo.com
Thank you for any advise.
advise, need to replace samba board, should I get bic 283?

techno 283
Theres no doubt the t2 will plane up sooner. You though are light and will not have trouble getting on the plane with either board.
I've had a 283 for about 5 years now, I absolutely love it . It's fairly quick to plane, so forgiving it's almost impossible to trip a rail, the slight v in the bottom soaks up chop, I think it's one of the sweetest gybing boards ever, carrying a gps I've hit 31.9 knots on it with a 7.5 sail. So it's fast enough.
It's needs a little tune up at the beggining, for your weight you'd want the fin at the back of the fin box, you'd have to experiment with mast foot position, the board will rail out until you find the right spot for the mast base, once you have the sweet spot the board will look after you better than your fairy god mother.
I've not ridden the t2 it looks good and we are thinking about getting one for Nancy, I'm sure it's great too
