I’ve been asked a few times when is it recommended not to come down to spi. So the dates to avoid coming down to south padre island is March 14th thru 19th. The kids coming down for spring break to spi has been reduced dramatically. they usually don’t cause any havoc, and they hang on the north side of the island. Its the local Texans that drive in from the valley that causes havoc. It can take an hour to drive over the bridge sometimes. most of the hotels will be full of Texans, allot of them drive to beach access 5 just to cruise and drink. some of them camp out on the beach there.

Funny you bring this up...I just watched TruTV South Padre P.D. Spring Break an entire show dedicated to the chaos those kids create. It was entertaining.

TRY TO AVOID "HOLY WEEK" aka "Semana Santa." The week leading up to Easter is a national holiday in Mexico. Alot of the hotels raise their rates that week & are often booked up. The same is not true for the Hotels in Corpus Christi, however.
