Although mother nature didn't stick around all weekend long for us, we did! And we had another unforgetable time on Mille Lacs. Yes it wasn't 'The Crossing' and the normal fury of activity going on with the anticipation of making it
across, but the same jockeying of rigging options were going on this year at shore. Haha, I was even trying a "Coach Tactic" of getting inside the head of 'The Professor'-Rob Evans with his own rigging dilemma telling him go BIG

Great to see the calm laid back vibe of the West Side Boyz rigging to the sound of reggae music, Low Boom Larry-a staple at almost EVERY Midwest event going on summer or winter, my fellow Canadian friends Paul, Roland, TbayRay, and Brainerd Lars whom I've had many great close races over the years with. All my fellow kiter/wind bro's all stoked about the white caps early Saturday morning! The late arrival of the WHOLE Johnson family Saturday morning cemented what the weekend was all about. Wow, so awesome watching their whole crew out on the water together... this was worth the trip alone! And at the awards, I was as stoked to get 12yr old Kylan Johnson to autograph my poster as he was to give it! Great job by the way Tighe with the poster showing the true spirit of windsports, the smiling face of our youth in the elements!! The youth is the future of both our sports being windsurfing and kiting, so bring your kids to the next event to show Mom & Dad how much fun their parents are having on the water!
Thank you to all the sponsors, the Fleet8 crew of Michael, Chuck, Kelly, Renae & others for another wonderful Fall Classic on Mother Mille Lacs! Great to be back!!
See you all at the Kite Crossing this winter!!
