Well, I am in the process of selling all of my windsurfing gear as I am getting out of the sport for now. It's bittersweet, but I don't regret it for now as I get to spend lots and lots of time with my beautiful three year old girl Scarlet.

As I sold my board tonight to a very nice gentleman who was pumped up to buy his 25th board, I was reminded of what a fantastic community this is.

Over the last five years I have had the privilege of meeting many new friends who were always friendly, helpful and most of all fun to hang out with. This forum is a great example of the classy type of people that you will meet that like to wind or kitesurf here in Minnesota. Pure class, seriously.

Below are just a few examples of those that have made an impression on me:

Vojta - First and foremost he is a good friend. He is someone who will spend eight hours teaching you everything you need to know about windsurfing or anything else. He is the man. He is the legend. He is Voltar.

Woody and Margot - They are the great ambassadors of windsurfing and fun. They bring an energy to the sport that makes people want to join in.

Uffe - He started the Dam Jam and is a great person that brings a lot of excitement to the sport.

Kevin Gratton and Mike Fox - These are they guys that have kept windsurfing alive and fun with all of their support.

This isn't everyone, but just a few of those great people who made an impression on me. I hope to run into all of you and feel fortunate to call all of you friends.

Always so good to see the stoke of people getting into windsurfing, or any wind sport for that matter. Once they get that 'tug' from Mother Nature and learn to manage her gift like you did, it will never lose you. Just as the gift of a child is precious. So yes, enjoy this time now with your little Scarlet. Someday when you're 'time' comes back to you, so will the call of Mother Nature, and we will see you on the water again then!
