Anxious to try new Kites!

After watching 16 year old Floridian, Tommy Fields at Bridge of the Gods competition, I decided to purchase the kite he is riding on. I just bought a 10m and 12m North Vegas 2010 and can't wait to go check them out! I have never ridden a North product so it will be fun to try somthing totally different. The only thing I've ever flown was my T3 quiver. Really excited about riding a C-Kite and feel safe because of the 5 line system. Is anybody back at home flying the Vegas or has anyone demo-d these? I looked at the Cabrinahs and the bridle system had (I think) 6 pulleys. I know that there is a good reason for that, but when you are rigging down in Padre the sand can really play havoc with moving parts and thus I thought I would go with simplicity. Also I was getting tired of having to unhook my leash to unwrap from the spectra lines after doing two or three spins in the same direction or single multiple spin jump. If you check out the new hookup on the Vegas they did something very clever! All the hooking up is down in the chicken loop area with two options for hooking up. I've wanted to start trying unhooked moves and was uncomfortable about trying them with my T3's. The forecast is poor for wind the next two days (after just finishing a 19 day run of strong west winds!) Can't wait to get on the water. Hope you guys get some great winds up at Millie this weekend. Patty and I miss the MN crew! We are planning to leave here mid Sept. and head down to SPI for Oct. and Nov., returning home finally around Dec. 1st. I have noticed a lack of chatter on this forum and was wondering why? I hope all is going well with all the Team Riders and all my brother wanna-be Team Riders. Keep up the stoke and when you're bored, pop in a good joke for us to view!!!! We like reading what's going on at home. Patty and I have seen a few kiting communities first hand and none of them top the MN guys and gals for closeness and camaraderie!! Take care, ride and share!
