JUMPING IN A CROWD NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!

Post by Hendy »

Saturday at Ramsey we had an indecent where someone went for the big jump without looking downwind first. there was one kite boarder down, one checking on him,and one pinching upwind to stay clear when another kiter jumped with out looking and crashed into my lines ending in a big mess fortunately no one was hurt. this could have been avoided by a simple pre-jump scan of the area downwind! stuff happens out there, but lets try look out for each other.

Ramsey does get a bit busy on Epic days like Sat...lets get in the habit of keeping a lines length away from other riders, look over your shoulder when you turn, Dont follow right behind someone, and keep the launch relatively clear...Keep in mind if something bad happens out there that could be the end of kiting on the Bear...Go Team!

Good advice, guys! Also, it is often a good idea to release your safety, flag the kite so it won't power up again while you are getting un-tangled. There are lots of people watching us out there, and it is important that we show the public that we are in control, and do not represent a threat or danger to them or their families. Let's use our heads, people, ride safe & keep our access!

I know this is a very serious issue but.......how indecent was he.....and was everything exposed?

Sorry - something serious could have happened but I just couldn't help myself on this one.

And it was not Norman involved in this "indecent"?!

All kidding aside glad nobody got hurt as it could have been very serious.

I agree that this is a serious post and the actions of one person put himself and three other people in very serious danger. I was glad I had my knife on me, fortunately I was able to get out of the lines wrapped around me with out it but I knew I had it as a last resort. I’m not sure why the person who caused this wouldn’t flag his kite as he was looping his kite directly at me. He said he couldn’t???

Now on a lighter note

I found it odd that this photo showed up on both definition searches.

Definition of:
1. Indecent - Offending public moral standards unacceptable and offensive to accepted standards, especially in sexual matters.
2. Incident – Event with potentially serious consequences

You are all are just jealous of my mad Hula Hoop skills! Actually, the camera caught the one milli-second when it wasn't around my ankles. It does give rise to a new trick: rocking the HOOP while riding a kiteboard. I think Deb could pull it off!
