Mille lacs on Wednesday!!

Post by magicninja »

Taking my first trip ever to Minnesota's mecca Mille Lacs. How is the water temp up there? I have a 3/2 wetsuit, wondering if i should rent a thicker one from Scuba Center? Anyone else heading up on Wednesday? Winds sw in the morning, turning west later in the day. Probably start at malmo, then later head to reddy creek. may the wind gods smile on us all. fly on.

Water temps at Mille Lacs are 51 degrees. Very comfortable this past weekend in a dry suit with only a swim suit and nylon shirt beneath. Several others were out in 3/2 wet suits.

Thinking about heading up tomorrow around noon. Check forecast in the morning...could be good! Looking to carpool up.

I was in Mille Lacs on Saturday and had a full body 1 mm neoprene liner under a 3 mm steamer along with boots and a hood and it was no problem. I do think the extra 1 mm neoprene liner helped a lot so if you don't have one yet, it probably is worth looking into.
