What to wear under Nitrous shorts

I want to protect myself and provide comfort..What do people wear under Dakine shorts. Neo shorts, Hyperflex Polyfin? Cotton briefs...commando? I'm dreaming of water.

I started out wearing thin neoprene shorts but didn't like the lack of freedom if you know what I mean.

I usually just wear my board shorts underneath

Regular swim wear or wet suit for me...nothing special.

I have been using the same pair of Nitro shorts for the last 6 years and just wear board shorts under them, actually it's about time I get a new pair, Rob and myself got caught up in a guys Muskee line last year and the line cut right through one of the double nylon straps, thank god I had them on it would have been my leg it would have went through! Anyone know where I can pick up a pair of large Nitro Shorts?

IS THIS THE OLD "What does a scottsman wear under his kilt" bit? Personally, I never looked, but I almost got slapped when I offered to help Buford's old lady adjust her straps! But seriously, folks, I would think something that dries quickly would be best...preferably lace. If Dakine doesn't have them, I noticed the Liquid force version on several sites.
