Camping at the Crossing
I saw Bryce's post about camping at the Crossing and getting an RV/tent city going and my wife and I are totally down to do that. My question is where do you guys usually do that? We just got a bad-ass winter camping tent and are ready to brave the elements. Can't wait until next weekend!

Re: Camping at the Crossing
Most likely will be out on the ice at garrison area. Last year there was a parking lot that was plowed on the ice. I drove my car down there and camped out there (in the car). This year I'm going to get the tent all set up or sleep under the stars.

I think I may do the same.

I'll be camping too. Wind or no wind, we'll make it a good time.

I'll be bringing a tent also. How does one go about fastening it to the ice?
Re: Camping at the Crossing
If you need to hold the tent down, ice screws work. Hopefully there's enough wind to need it, but it's not looking good. Maybe the wind that looks like its coming Monday or Tuesday will arrive early...fingers crossed. Or you can skip the tent and just sleep under the stars. I did that this weekend on Mille and it was great.

Where exactly are we setting up? Should I bring firewood?

We are on our way up! Stoke level is rising and I am always down for a good Martini. I Think we will set up out on the ice in Garrison like Bryce was saying. See you all up there and give me a call if you're going up early.
