Hi All,
Decent snow conditions in Alexandria if you don't mind a little slush here and there. Below is a link to a video of some riding I did on new years day. Any tips on how to ride toeside would be much appreciated.

Re: Lake Henry Alexandira, MN
glad to hear you're getting out Jay. Great kite view video.
Not sure how to advise on toeside riding. I actually prefer toeside to heelside now, but I have no idea what the dynamics are. It's just a feel thing. I know I'm driving down with my toes. Hopefully someone else will have better advice on what's going on. Watching others might help. Check out the videos etc.

Cool video Jay!
I'm sure it's been discussed on the forum before, but what kind of camera is that...that you can attach to the kite? I'd like to get one to capture a few winter sessions.

Thanks, The camera is a GoPro HD. I got the helmet hero version because it comes with a mount that works pretty well to put on the center strut of a kite. There was a post on October 21st about cameras that you would probably find interesting.

http://www.camrig.com/photos.php is another option. I use the Optimo W20 camera suggested a few years ago.
The centering of video is tricky but i've heard the right software can straighten it out. Also making sure the video is centered on you is a little of an adjustment period too.
Jay, whose the music playing in your Xmas day vid?
Snow looked good. Your tracks reminded me of a desktop zen garden...except better with carving them around. I see a book title forming: Zen and the art of kiting tracks.

Jay-
What are you editing with?
What compression?
What Export?
What the heck makes your quality vid look awesome, and mine suck?
The long and the short of it, WWJD.
-What (in the) World (is) Jay Doing?

Edited to add: C'mon Mike... Red Hot Chili Peppers
(you must be getting old... I've got some Lawrance Welk on 8-track you can borrow).

Re: Lake Henry Alexandira, MN
I've tried windows movie maker, adobe premier elements, a bunch of other free ones, and had the best results with pinnacle studio 14. The software is wicked easy to use and half the price of Adobe. The resolution the camera is set to from the factory is 1280X960 and i've left it there because the old Thinkpad laptop I have is barely up to the task of editing it. I've been tinkering with different formats to save the final video in, and saving as a 640x480 AVI seems to be a good compromise between filesize and quality. Lastly, anything that worked in that video can be credited to either trial and error or dumb luck, but mostly the latter.
