Any suggestions for mapping (Pref. Google Earth) routes with GPS? I've seen many options, but few that seem to lend themselves to kiting...

Ironically, it's that website that led to the post.
I've got a Lowrance XOG - I'm pretty savvy when it comes to computering, and I couldn't even figure out how to get the data off my GPS.

Have you checked out the shadow box (www.shadowboxlive.com)? I saw a demo of it on you tube and it looks pretty cool. They have developed an application specifically for kiteboarding. It will tell you how high you jumped and how many G's you pulled and all the data can be overlayed onto Google earth.

Wow. Just.... Wow.
"Local bank was robbed this afternoon... Suspect was seen filling some sort of backpack with the stolen money. Police are looking for a white male with a backpack which says Liquid Force on the side of the bag. Story after the weather... Out to the back yard with Sven Sunguard and his hairdoo which is being blown around from winds out of the south at 16 to 20."

Re: GPS & Mapping
When I plug my GPS into my PC USB port, a Mass Storage drive appears. Do you get another folder when you plug in your GPS to the Mac? Your saved tracks should appear in the new folder. Or after saving a track to the memory card, you could read the card with a card reader. I know little about Macs. GPSVisualizer knows how to convert any GPS track format because it uses GPSBabel, a GPS data conversion program. GPSBabel is included with Google Earth on a PC.monkey1031 wrote:I've got a Lowrance XOG - I'm pretty savvy when it comes to computering, and I couldn't even figure out how to get the data off my GPS.

RTFD.
Got it...
It's not what I was hoping for (Speeds, Distance, Etc)... But it's close enough for a start. Pulled up my last day on the snow from last year. Super cool to see all the lines on the lake.
Next, it's a shadowbox.. They say they're putting out a Mac version soon.
(Thanks guys, for all the help. It's still a huge pain in ass, but it's rad as hell.)

Saturday = Green (Appx 7 Miles, forgot to save the info)
Wednesday = Red 7.4 Miles
Technology is RAD!
Swede Lake - It needs a little more fluffy, but it's certainly getting there.

Re: GPS & Mapping
Can you remember the wind directions those 2 days? Those lines can help line up jumps and rails that we place out there to certian winds.
