ARUBA

Post by EOPPEN »

Hi I have some friends getting married in Aruba next weekend and I am heading there with my kite in hand. I am looking for some advice on where to ride and maybe some things to keep in mind or look out for. I would appreciate any input that would be beneficial.
I am planning on bringing my 8 Meter kite since I heard it blows there pretty much everyday especially this time of year. I am just not sure where to go and if there are any local things I need to know.
SHootz!
Thanks everybody!

It's been quite awhile since I was down there...to windsurf. What I remember is beautiful turquoise shallow waters but offshore winds. Could make for some sweet flat water kiting. Looks like quite a few other spots have been discovered on the island.

Or in the destinations section.

Might want to post what you learn in the Destinations page. Helps the next traveler out.

enjoy.

If you decide to ride at Fisherman's Hut (a popular windsurfing spot at the North end of the island) I believe there is some sort of local agreement with the windsurfers. Not sure but I think most people won't kite during certain hours of the day. Check with the local rental shops.
