Sorry, Ottertail County looks to be good too... There is a great launch on Big Pine Lake in Perham on the North side that would be great on a W. Showing 21 mph Sat with chance of snow. Great run all the way across the lake is about 5 miles!
Just another idea for anyone wanting to group up since it WILL be chilly..

Where were all the big talkers today? Scott F and I had the place all to ourselves. Great conditions. Solid 9m wind and the snowflakes were really pretty! Surprising not that cold either with a drysuit.

Sorry,
Had a last minute change to go to Pepin. The wind whipped there also and I wasn't even cold with a wetsuit! No snow too!!!
But it is good you had a good time out there! It would've been nice to be there, but probably chilly with a wetsuit...

I didn't get there till 4:30 saturday. No one was there, and I decided not to go out alone. Bummer, I was hoping to get there by 2. I only had my 13M though so might not have been able to get out because the wind was cranking.

Shoot--we were warming our fingers and toes at Carlsona by then. A 13m would have been way too big. I spent a bit of time on my 9m depowered and fully lit. It was an awesome day!

SETH & SCOTT get the frozen cajones award! I kept waiting for the temp to get above freezing, but finally gave up & left my cajones at home. Sorry I missed the frozen lines & stiff canopy...NOT! Thanks for the beers afterward!

How long did you guys last out there? My fingers were pins and needles after about 45 minutes.

The wind was great at Waconia. There were about 4 windsurfers and Tom, Jeff G. and myself on kites. The only thing missing was the snowstorm.

I'm a wimp, so was probably over dressed. I stopped by Midwest Mountaineering and got some waterproof gloves and NRS Toaster Mitts on the way up. I was pretty good, cold wasn't bothering me at all. Apparently it bothered my kite as evidenced by the canopy ripping from leading edge to trailing edge.
