Duluth/Superior Beach clean up

Post by coastie young gun »

Hello fellow surfers, Windsurfers, and kiteboarders,

In response to the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act of 2009, Coast Guard cutter Alder will be hosting a Duluth/Superior beach clean up/walk on Friday September 11, 2009 at 0800. The event will kick off at the 22nd street launch for the Duluth side and Wisconsin Point for the Superior side. Trash bags and gloves will be supplied. Anyone who is able is encouraged to join us to help keep our beaches clean and minimize our impact on the environment. If you have any questions feel free to contact me via email at andrew.m.strasser@gmail.com or telephone number (847)226-6392.

Thank you for Your help!

Andrew, thanks for making the post. It didn't work out for me to make it up there today, but we want to extend our gratitude for putting this together and for all you guys do. If this becomes an annual thing it would be great to build it into a wind enthusiast event.
I can attest to seeing fellow riders doing their part in picking up the garbage we see along the beach. Seems like most of it drifts in from offshore. Anyway, hope you can make an update post for us.
Ride...just be it!
