Ramsey Beach

Not sure if this has been occuring on a regular basis or not, but was out at Ramsey this weekend and the Sheriff's office was actually patrolling the beach and forbidding people from swimming. I was hanging out there from 11-5, and they were there the whole time. I know there was a concern about launching from Ramsey given that there were swimmers in the water. Can anyone confirm if they are actively forbidding swimming on a regular basis?

Early on it didn't look like they were going to enforce it. Apparently there has been a change of heart. Problem is it's only going to take one unsupervised kid to wander off that drop off....

Regardless of the situation at Ramsey, Rutherford is the preferred launch during the summer for kiting.

SAVE FOR A FEW, IT WAS ALL BUT DESERTED YESTERDAY AFTERNOON, with barely enough wind to keep the 17's aloft. Something about boosting in light wind, gives it a dream-like slo-mo feel. Just my speed! Lake Patrol was out, but just observing.

There were quite a few swimmers just south of the public beach, on the other side of the dock, when I was there. The shallows there are wider than at Ramsey.
