Mille givin' the cold shoulder

Post by DavidKnight »

Everything was lining up perfect.
I have to do a site visit on Thursday to Isle, MN on the south shore of Mille Lacs
Winds forecasted at 35-48 mph from the south
78 degrees and sunny 8)

It's still covered in ice. http://www.mnlakecams.com/

I'll do my best to get to Ramsey WBL after work. It's not the best place for a South wind but Waconia's too far from St. Paul at rush hour.

Don't forget the sun screen.

Talked to my folks last night (they live near the lake). They say there's 15-20 foot piles of ice on the Southern shore now, so it's starting to move.

The vast majority of the lake still covered by a huge plate though.

Nice picture! It looks like all the smaller lakes around Mille are finally open too! :D

Anyone around Brainerd riding yet? I am going to be in the area tomorrow. Possibly going to check out North Long's 371 bay if I get there in time.

I drove around the majority of the lake today from garrison up and around and back to 169 it was open as far as i could see. I didnt see that big mass of ice. when I was there the wind didnt seem to be going. I drove in to Father H and it was dead. open but dead. by little falls and rice it was going strong. anyways milly is open

I was up there this last weekend and didin't see any large ice flow, i did see a lot of small stuff floating by Cralsona when I was eating, I think what Rick is saying is correct, Milly is open.
