Better stated Tighe and hits the point of safety better.

It was grandios thinking to get up and do dawn patrol today. I'm passing on it for now. Maybe I'll get a chance to ride later. Another time Paarn. Consider Lake Washington.

Yes we need to minimize the Sheriff and fire water rescue at Waconia. They came with sirens blaring again yesterday. At least it was only one sheriff and two fire rescue and one ambulance this time. No reporter that I saw this time...

I had two great sessions on my 14 yesterday. Needed it for the lulls, had to sheet out big time in the gusts. I was cruising with the kite low in some flat water when a big gust hit me and yanked me like Superman and flipped me on the back of my head and back for a nice high speed crash...glad I had my helmet on....It was hard enough to possibly knock me out... It was fun in the flat water since it was gusty...You could carve and pop at the leading edge of a gust and sky! Hope to get out again today....

I have to agree with tighe. Wac gets deep fast as proven last night by one of our newbies. The kiter got out into deep water and then couldn't relaunch his kite. Someone driving down the road callled the sheriff. We had fire trucks police, a search boat and a water patrol on a jetski. We are having too many of these calls for help in my opinion. Choose a place with alot of shallow water if you can't ride cosistently or have a rescue boat out there with you. Why not live to ride another day.

I had the alarm set for 5am in order to catch up with Mike.
Finally when I got out of bed it was more like 10am.
Thanks to all the warnings. I'm thinking more of Lake Washington now.

Hi Bob C. I've been wanting to come down to Madison. Glad I spotted your attention. I agree with tighe about Waconia. I forgot there are so many newcomers in the area looking to ride. Mistakes are too easy to make. I wish Waconia was'nt such a hike for me. I found a new secret beach on the east side of WBL that works great for west wind. I could see a few at Bellaire today. For the record, I would never put anyone in harm's way. I was just playing with my response. Nobody should ever take me too seriously.
