New Kite Design

Post by ChristianS. »

Hi guys

Take a look at this interesting design. Even if your Danish or French is not perfect, the pictures tells the story. It should be on the market next spring.

It looks like it combines the features of a foil and an inflatable kite.

I watched this video of it:

It looks like it relaunches really easy but other than that what are the bonuses of a kite like that? It's more of a wide LEI than a foil it looks like. Crazy stuff.

If it has both the top and bottom surface, shouldn't the power/size ratio be the same as a foil but without all the bridles and the other negatives of a foil.

The shape of the canopy is very much like a P2. Interesting. Everytime you think kite innovation is peaking, more concepts are put forth. I love it.

Dave, I don't think it has a bottom surface. Just a tube kite with a bridle system.

It's funny, I was just saying to Chris B yesterday the next stage of Blimp developement is probably some sort of bridle design, aids the relaunch and improves the efficiency of the foil.
Globerider and the new diesel have these sliding front lines and it looks as though this kite utilises a bridle which has a self tuning setup for the front and rear lines. I wonder where it will end up?.
