kitboarding magazine article

Post by steveb »

There was a great article in Kiteboarding magazine highlighting Alex and Aaron in N.Z.... cool.
There was another article about snowkiting written by some guys from Broneagh, I was wondering if any of you guys had read the article and what you thought?. I came away with the impression they don't winter kite often. Am I just being a snob or did you guys come away with the same impression?

Steve
I am glad you said something about the article.
Rubbed me the wrong way too.

Lets just say it was a dissappointment after such
a wonderful trip article about New Zealand just one page earlier.
That Airin Sails sure can tell a story.

I am sure that someone from this forum could improve
upon the article by adding alot of the specific information
that is discussed here.

In their defense, they are the "editors at large" I believe,
and probably didnt spend alot of time putting the article together.

Without going line by line thru the 2 page article, I remember
it being biased towards snowboarding, Cabrinha, and not consistent
from one paragraph to another.

I would have added more specific details and left out the generalities that
could get a beginner into trouble.

I agree about the article, but snowkiting is not the main stream thing with kiteboarding, I think that it is a least cool it got some recognition, and the pics of alex I thought were great.

This clipping in a previous post of mine came from a side bar to the same article.

I thought the prevailing wind forcast for Tonka was very optimistic, at the least. Wonder who they interviewed that would give them that load of crap.

As seen in the latest "Kitebaording" mag. December/January issue.

Thanks Tom.

Matt and Keagan are great guys and I'm sure they offer a top notch clinic.

For those interested, many of the instructors here in town are organizing to offer as many clinics as we can. We're tossing around every weekend. We're trying to put together gear and instruction packages as well. We are also try to get hooked up with 2005 product so that the clinic helps you better understand the latest innovation in equipment.

Right now we're waiting on the snow. As soon as we have some we'll step into full swing. If are interested and haven't recieved a recent email from us, shoot me an email and I'll add you to the list.
