Looks like Windwing is going to give Best a run for their money in direct sales approach. Man, for 1500 bucks you could get a quiver of 3 big kites! I'm tempted to put the foils to rest in the summer and splurge! Although I'm not sure the Mrs. would look kindly on that. Can I keep them in your car Jim so she doesn't catch on? haha..

right on Barry
Perhaps you just aren't cool enough to see the true value of the major kite manufacturer's websites. I'm not either apparently. There are dozens of improvements that could be made to these sites that would give both the customer and the company more information about one another. None of them involve blasting a music clip when you click 'enter'
Sorry, I feel myself starting a rant

Good one, Barry! I recently had the pleasure of flying a Best Nemesis 21, and I must say I was thoroughly impressed! These kites do not have all the sexy features of some of the kites from the big manufacturers (one pump, vortex stabilizers, turbo air injection, etc..), but they fly very well and and appear to have excellent build quality.
I am happy to see the direct order initiatives from Best and Windwing.

The BEST part about sticking with your retailers when purchasing this stuff...even for goods from kite companies that sell direct, is that you can sometimes even get a better deal from your retailer and faster service, than direct from the company themselves.
Try it sometime...you might be pleasantly surprised.
Otherwise, what would the point of a retail outlet be other than to help newbies get started?

I still love you Jason!
I've bought two kites from you in the past and the service was sweet and you did give me great deals. Granted I bought them used from you because I'm a poor bastard who can't afford brand new kites!
For those who want new though... Those prices are tough to beat dude! I mean you gotta make something off a sale! Even with direct purchasing prices, I'll probably just ride my foils again next year and you can all watch the black sheep try to solo launch from malmo! I saw Armin do it with a foil in the middle of the water on their import page. I'm gonna master it yet damn it!

Yeah, but wouldn't it be nice to have a huge kiting shop in the twin cities that had all every kite, bar, and assy known to man IN STOCK. It would be a place to hang out, demo stuff, and dump your old gear. There would be a deli and a grass hut bar with reggae music playing. Just gut the WYC! Perfect location. Imagine kiting in for cocktails in the winter. Instead of dock hands there would be rig biaches!
