Hi,
I'm from the U.K. and have bought my kites and snowblades out with me for the next week. In Christmas 2001 I just blasted around the local school playing field - there wasn't enough ice on the lakes. I'm keen to go out on the lakes this time - I'm staying in Bloomington and can get dropped by car.
Which lakes are safe near the cities? Should I bring skates or skis? Is anyone going to Harriet / Calhoun / Minnetonka this weekend?
Looking forward to meeting you,
James

Thanks for the welcome. The powers that be have ordained that I will be back at the school field today but I will certainly be at Calhoun tomorrow at noon.

James . Thanks for the heads up, do you expect to be here long or is it a flying visit?.
Kiting in the Solent must be mind blowing with some of the tide rips they have there. Did it cause problems when your kite was down ,pushing you along making it hard to keep tension on the lines?
I hope I bump into you somewhere, going to the kite freeze?
