As Dave S. mentioned, the inventor of the Snowfer is coming down on Feb 1&2. He has a kite version of the Snowfer called the Uniboard, that looks very interesting. It looks like a snowboard with an vertical edge on the bottom, much like the Snowfer. The following video shows it holding fairly well on the glare ice as well as having a controled sideslide when desired. It works on snow, crude, and ice.

Unfortunately I'm going to be out of town till the 8th, but I hope some of the local kiters can get a chance to put this board to the test that weekend. If you do, post your review here.

Just wondering if you can drive out to kite island or if it's advisable to walk.
