cannon goes boom

Post by Tighe »

what a great day of play in the sun.

I am slowly waking this morning, my body tingling to life, nursing a coffee, visions of the day still in my head.

It was great to see and ride with the Cannon group again. The lake showed her perdy colors as the ramps set up and the texture rolled through. 4.5 would have been the call for the day...which of course I don't have so went from 4.0 to 5.2 ( hangin on for dear life). So much fun playing on the swells. Love the new EVO. While it is easy to sail, I can tell that I'll be learning a whole new way to sail with this board. It's a skateboard.

Kevin O. gets the award for the day. Dude you were out there all day! When we headed to La Tequilla for a bite, you were still out there ripping it up. ride on.

I'm still full from that burrito...

The Mexican food was good, thanks for invite.
I learned a lesson on that lake, roll up all your car windows before you go out on the water. My truck is all covered inside of a layer of dirt. I was thinking about planting corn in the back seat.
It was a great day though.

Sounds like fun down there! I'm glad you are liking the EVO. Skateboard is a good description of my Fish too. It's so lively and turny and flicky. There's somthing that I like doing now that's unconventional from what I see others do around here and that's sliding sideways. Next time you spin out (or try to break the fin out) don't recover. Just keep sailing sideways and learn how to adjust your trim. With the Fish anyway, you can recover the fin at anytime. You can keep sailing sideways as long as there is enough wind to keep planing (you do have a bit more drag but not as much I you might think).

Start breaking the fin out all the time for fun. Try it as you carve up a swell near the top. If there is a little white water there great! it helps break out. Now you can try like a rail slide on the top of the swell, Hook the fin back up and ride down it.

I'm just starting to realize some of the possiblities of...

It was fun out at Green Lake yesterday. About mid 5's all day but a few prolonged lulls kept our attention.

Skate on!
