retractable leashes!!

Post by jim lehman »

First of all a big THANKS to Scott for fishing my board out of Cannon today. I had a big wipe out and my retractable leashes became disconnected from my harness. What a drag!!! After getting the kite in the neutral position I could not see my board anywhere. After body dragging for about 30 minutes looking for it, I did a downwinder to the guys Windsurfing and they found it for me. What you guys do to make it more visable in the water. My board is mainly black and shinny which makes it hard to spot in the water.

Secondly, where is the best spot to hook up your leash attachment to the harness so it does not get in the way.

Thanks again to Scott

I think that Matt K. spray painted his board bright yellow. Seems to help quite a bit.

Concerning the board leash, I used to attach mine to one of the buckles that link to the big, huge handle at the back of my harness. Seemed to work. Just make sure that you wear some good headgear if you use a board leash.

yeah when I went out yeasterday I saw what looked like a hunk of dark wood in the water, then realized it was a board upside down. The entire underside was black. The kiter was way down wind looking for it. Not sure why they don't just make them with yellow undersides.
