Hi, I would like to ask some questions to someone that my own a Techno 2 264. I am thinking of buying one and would like to know if you own a CTS or Pro version, and what sails and fins you like with it. Not sure what version to buy? Thank you.

One year old!!

I bought mine after the swap last year. It came with a stock 50 cm fin which is fine for 8.5 or bigger sales. I have a 40 cm rainbow that I use for 7.5 & 6.5 sails. I took it out on a 5.5 day--once. It was too squirrelly when the wind got beneath it. I sail it alot on light winds with a 9.5 which it handles nicely. I bought the standard construction one which is fine for me. I don't know how much of a weight advavtage you get with the lighter CTS version, but I suppose the rider could shed a few kilos as well. It took me a few sessions to adjust to the shorter shape, it seems to require more attention to foot steering than the older techno which track better. but the additional sail range, etc, are a big improvement in my book . Thank you. I have a Bic Samba that I want to replace and get a board to sail in 10 to 15 , or light to medium winds. I can't make up my mind of I should get a Bic Techno 283 or the Bic Techno 264 Pro or CTS. To many choices. I am 5'7 and 150 pounds and have been sailing a long time. For higher winds I have my Bic Electric Rock.
If you have any suggestions, I would be glad to hear.
I think anything will be an improvement over the old Samba, it is a heavy board, but great in its days.

Thank you

I'd go w/ the "T2" for the bigger wind and sail range, and if $'s are no object get the "PRO" version for the "KOOLNESS" factor...I Know I'll be envious if no one else!

Jim: Do you have the big Techno 2 or the smaller one? I've been thinking of a board in the 130 liter range ... and those boards just split the difference.

Do they both have Tuttle fins? The Bic web site and The House web site disagree. (Both show the smaller Techno 2 with a Tuttle; Bic shows the larger one with a deep Tuttle.)

Thanks,
John

BIG TECHNO II

I've got the BIG T-2. It has a deep tuttle box. The stock fin and my curtis 40 cm weed fin both run the deep tuttle base. I'm running a standard tuttle on my 40 cm rainbow fin & it works!! So you can run a standard tuttle in a deep box, but not a deep fin in a standard box.
