Post by windbeso »

Hi, is the water warm enough yet on the local lakes and rivers to wear a wet suit. My dry suit got torn up last fall, and all I have is the wet suit.
What are you guys wearing right now?
They said it might be warm and windy tomorrow and want to know how th water is.
Thank you.

you should be fine in a wetsuit tomorrow. It's gonna be toasty. Chris Lock was out at Waconia yesterday in just a wetsuit. Had to be a bit chilly though.

You should ask Denis how cold it is. he drifted halfway across Waconia in a wetsuit and got quite cold. So the air temps will help alot, but dress for the worst. Better to be safe than sorry...

I wore my 3/2 wetsuit, complete with a nice sized rip in the butt, (I know there's a joke there) in Cannon during the big Sunday hurricane.
It was really warm that day but I spent PLENTY time in the water fighting equipment that just wanted to blow away.
I was out for 2+ hours and was fine.

I saw Denis and Mike B (from down under) last night right after their kite session...besides the need for a warm beverage and some spicy wings, they said it was great. I asked them the same question and they said you will definately be cold if you spend a lot of time in the water, but that when you are up kiting it is fine.
