The Challenger disaster occurred (first Space shuttle disaster) because of bad O-rings (well, frozen O-rings).
I think many sailors may not be aware that our Carbon boards that have a vent plug (screw) need an O-ring (little rubber gasket) with the vent screw.
"The vent plug (screw) is not enough to keep water out of board" (says. Dave Nune of Windance.) Dave also said, "That once water get's inside, it's almost impossible to get it all out."
Do you have an O-ring on your screw plug? It ought to be changed, inspected once in a while. You don't want a broken one.
Pete, is this why your first Mistral Explosion (that you got so many great rides out of) started taking on water? Did you have an O-ring on your screw plug?
Anyway, inspect those nice carbon windsurf boards, and make sure you have an O-ring (in good condition) on the srew plug.
Don't let your boards have the same sad fate as the "Challenger."
Quetzalcoatl out.
O-ring in vent plug will "save" your board, it's critical!
