It's a good idea to keep a floaty board in your car at all times.
Even if the forecast suggests Nuking 35 mph winds all day.
When you get to the lake, the, conditions may be less intense than what you planned for and you're gonna wish you brought at least one fairly big board for the 15 to 18 mph
so at least you can can some planning rides in. A big board can sail in light wind and in heavy wind (with some difficulty with control in big wind).
But a little sinker board is ONLY good for big wind. So,,,take you're pick. Or at least bring a big board and a little board.
Last Sunday,,I was expecting big winds 25 mph plus, but when I got to the lake it was "mildly" whitecaping out in the middle. So, I sailed my 125 liter (64cm wide) Bic Techno the whole day
with a 6.3 Ezzy Tiger Sail. It was not a Super fantastic day, but it was a GOOD day of sailing. I was planning all four hours with no schlogging. I didn't use my smaller board at all.
Quetzalcoatl out.
Always keep a big board in your car & U will still plane
