Quetzalcoatl DID sail on Sunday afternoon, waves wre rollars

Post by Quetzalcoatl »

YEah...I got a good sesh in on Sunday, Nov. 4. Had to schog out of from Wisc. shore, near town of Pepin,

to get into the Line of Wind (that steady NW wind) and all of sudden, BAM!! I was in! In the line of wind for two

hours. I just stayed out in the middle of Lake Pepin and rode those rolling waves that built up over several miles coming
straight down the channel. Wind was a steady 17ish mph, like being down in S. Padre. Just that it was a cold NW wind
instead of a steady strong and warm SE wind, so common at S. Padre Island.

Air temp was 37 degrees,,but my Dakine mitts and O'Brian hood and booties and the Dry suit kept my warm as toast.!

Water was cold when it hit my face,,but that felt good! Oh, I was on a Techo 170 liter formula board and and 7.4 Loft sail.

The formula board stayed in control because the wind never exceeded 20 mph so I just kept planning the whole time and

got up on the waves and speed down them. Rollar coaster stuff.

Eric out. Oh...Stay off the Ice until at least till Thanksgiving.

Or wear a dry suit,,if you fall in.
