Calling on Mike (man of Madrid)....

Post by Quetzalcoatl »

Mike:
How's the windsurfing been on Lake Calhoun? Have you been doing a lot of sailing
with the Loft 9.6 sail?

Calhoun is a special place. Please give us an update on how things are going there,,like the changes that

were going to be made in regards to the New sailboat launch place or re-arranging stuff on the lake.

Are things still more or less "Ok" for windsurfing on Calhoun.

Just wanted to hear some reports of how things are going on the "True" Mecca of Windsurfing in the Twin Cities.

Hi Erik, just now seeing this so I apologize for the delay. As far as I understand, the wizards at the Minneapolis Park Board are no longer considering moving the boat launch to the north side of Calhoun where we launch on south winds. So I think windsurfing at Calhoun will remain as it is now.

This summer has been so bad for wind that I've used my formula board with that 9.6 Loft that you sold me on about 2/3 of the days. I'd guess in a typical year, I'd use that big gear around half of the time... this year there just hasn't been many days with enough wind for smaller, or even medium sized gear.

Hey, that 7.0 Ezzy you're selling doesn't have any cams right? I may take it off your hands if you're going to be around these parts closer to the twin cities anytime soon...

Re: Calling on Mike (man of Madrid)....no cams on Ezzy 7 met

Mike:

Good to hear from you! Thanks for the favorable report on the the Calhoun situation. Glad to know that things (for now) are "status quo."

The Ezzy sail has no cams. So...I'll try to hold it for you. (You deserve this sail!).This is due to you're diligence in keeping contact with the Park Board and keeping us sailors "up to speed" as to what's going on. I don't think I'll be in the Twin Cities area this weekend. Maybe a weeknight at Calhoun I could "Make an appearance."

What's your cell #?

I'll call ya and let you know when I'm coming up. It'd be within the next ten days.

Eric (Quetzalcoatl) out.
