Please, anybody, How can I be sure I'm cutting a long stainless steel screw down to the correct size to fit a fin?

Anybody got a good trick to do this?

Quetzalcoatl would appreciate an idea.

I can help you with this Eric. I can also help with the multiple fin screw length issue you mentioned in another post. Please email me (my Gmail acct, not the Mayo one). Probably have to do this on the weekend or during the day when you have non windy weekday off. Not going to try to explain this in words on here.
