Some sailors don't care for Clear Lake, IA because,,ahh waves are short or choppy. This is true. Ya don't get
the nice Build-up of big waves that you DO get on Lake Cannon,,,due to Cannon is "deeper" than Clear Lake, IA.
But,,,if the only place for wind is Clear Lake, IA,,(on Sun. the 18th),then that's the place to go! Clear Lake, IA is almost Twice the size of Cannon.
So, it's a nice sized lake. AND,,part of the reason (which few people understand why) The Lake (of Clear Lake) sits 100 ft.
higher than the surrounding countryside.
Can anyone explain this? Any Geologists out there in LAKAWA-land?
Otherwise Fairmont, MN will also get the same NW 19 mph base steady wind (with gusts at times up to 25 mph)>
It shall be a cloudy cooler day..only in the 70's.
Oh...and by the way You don't have to be an "early bird" for this place. Clear Lake tends to hold on to the wind longer
than other lakes do. 12:00 high noon is a very good time to get there.
This is Quetzalcoatl and I approved this message.
"Windsurfing on the Rise!"
The Carissima that Clear Lake actually has...(why it's good)
