Quetzalcoatl predicts: Open water for windsurfing/Kiteboarding in late February in Iowa.

Live Web cams at Big Creek Lake, near Polk City, Iowa (just north of Dem Moines) has a good 40ft. wide strip of open water. The web cam, tittled "Big Creek Beach" shows this, not the marina.

This is rt. now...at 2:06 pm Feb. 1st. So...I predict most of the lake will be open water in late Feb.

I hope the Groundhog does not see shadow tomorrow.
