Really for most windsurfing boards ya need at least 20mph (more the better) to be able
to get going and hydroplaning.
So...plan your days with that in mind (and in your purchase of boards). Yes,,you can plane in wind a little under 20 mph,
if you have wider boards (75ish in width) and, better yet the Formula boards (90-100 cm in Width).
But 20 mph is that magic bottom number (the low end of the parameters) to be able to hydroplane.
Otherwise it's just a Schlog Fest. The smaller boards ("The Sinkers") those that are 105 and less in volumn just aren't going
to move if the wind is less than 20 mph.
Think 20!!
Quetzalcoatl out.
Quetzalcoatl speaks: 20 mph is that magic #!!!
