Wayzata bay ice

Post by Iceman »

I was out on wayzata bay fishing Sunday night full size trucks were driving by me. I had 14 inches of ice under me it looks like we just need some snow. Remember the ice is never safe!

Drove out to kite island today. Snow was not bonded to the ice with lots of drifting. I would say the snow coverage was about 75% but it seemed as the day went on, more of the icy spots were getting filled in. All in all it was good to be out but had hoped for better snow conditions. She was a windy one today!

Ice fisherman report 14 inches of ice in Wayzata Bay. We did not drill any holes by the island but the ice did not crack at all driving out or back. I'm not saying it's safe but we did not have any issues. There were a bunch of big fish houses scattered around in the usual spots.
