Hey Ice surfers! A question to you all. I Now own a SNOWFER. So,,,,the footstraps look to be big enough to fit
tennis shoes or my windsurf booties.
Do people use BIG winter boots or should I just go out into the windstorms (blizzards) with my 6mm thick water booties?
The straps that are on this board are obviously windsurf/kiteboard footstraps. I can't imagine getting my winter boots into them.
Any suggestion from Icesurfers or snowfer surfers. I know that winter kiteboarders use skiboots or snow board boots that
fit snowboard bindings.
But what about icesurfers, or freeskate boards or snowfers?
Otherwise I think i'll just go out in my windsurf booties. Any response will be appreciated. Thanks.

Eric,
You will want to wear big winter boots! Is your board really a Snowfer? They come with footstraps large enough for big winter boots.

Thanks to "The Man from Madrid" for your response.
Yah Mike, this I DO believe is a true bonifide "Snowfer", because it has skis (K2 downhill) mounted under
an Elaine Snowboard. This it can work on ice,,but it's really designed for snow,,,when the snow is too deep
to go iceboating (with DN iceboat). It looks like it was maybe homemade. SO,,,I don't know why it has regular
windsurf/kiteboarding footstraps.
Anyway,,,maybe I'll bring it up to Lake Calhoun some weekend. (I bought it from a guy who lives just across the street from The Southern end of Calhoun).
What do you use in the winter?
Good to hear from you.
Eric.

Eric,
The Snowfer is actually a brand name of a board manufactured in Canada by a nice old geezer named Charles. Check out www.snowfer.com for more info - it has pictures and videos of his products. What you have is definitely homemade. Sounds like you'll have to adjust the footstraps to the largest possible position, and/or find the smallest possible boots that provide the most warmth. What was the name of the person you got the board from? and do you have a pic you can post?

Hey Mike: Thanks for your info. on Snowfers.
I couldn't answer till now because I just got back last night (midnight:30) on a Sun Country flight from S. Padre.
Five days straight of Planing.....! Two days of 80 air temp and 20ish S. Winds. All changed to North winds and 30's winds and 43 degree air temp!
Hood and thinist of cold weather gloves. I was very comfortable in five mm. wetsuit (with a vest). Saturday I spend entire afternoon on an 85 liter windsurf board and 3.5 sail.
So: Back to the snowfer: yeah,, I can't remember the dude's name. He's a guy from Greece who lives just across the street from the South main beach of Calhoun. Again,, this set-up
has two K2 skis attached to an Elan snowboard...with a universal Joint already on it.
