I've been told by some of the Senior Windsurfers that back in the early 80's, that in TC metro area
there were more than a dozen stores that sold windsurf equipment,,EVEN Sears sold windsurfers!
Problem was,,,some stores (probably like Sears) didn't know what to do with it,,or how to sail it. They just
sold what seemed popular (in Pop culture) in the time. (this is way when you buy a used cottage/cabin it often comes with a windsurf board,a long Mistral or Hyfly board that the previous owner never learned how to use and they just let the kids play on it like a swim platform.
Our local main Downhill Ski shop (in Rochester) sold windsurf boards (in the 80's) but,,,they didn't know how to use them, let alone teach anyone how. (Today, they DO sell SUP boards, kayaks,,and Lawn Furniture!
Anyway, I just wanted to provide an Historical moment.

Quetzalcoatl out.

Windsurfing on the Rise....And The equipment is better than ever!
